RE: Water Rates
Â
To all customers currently on the Casa Water System,
Â
The Water Department has been notified by the City of Ola Water System that there will be an increase in water rates coming up in June of this year.
Â
The Mayor of Ola addressed the City Council at its April meeting to explain the reasons for the cost increases. All water systems in the State of Arkansas are undergoing water rate studies as mandated in Act 605 passed in 2021. This is causing many water systems to increase customer water rates.
Â
The increase in bulk purchase prices of water from the Ola Water System will be increased by a significant amount starting this June due to the study findings and the increased costs of production.Â
Unfortunately, these price increases must be passed along to the customers of the Casa Water System.
Â
Based on the new costs of water that we purchase from the Ola Water System all customers will be moved to a base rate of $35.00 (1st 1000 gallons) effective June 1st, 2024.
Rates for water from 1001-3000 gallons will be $5.05 per 1000 gallons.
Rates for water from 3001- Plus gallons will be $4.35 per 1000 gallons.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Sincerely,
Â
Â
Josie Payne
Mayor, City of Casa
